More restrained and structured, as well as much less alcoholic, than the typical big but inexpensive Australian Shiraz. Has the textural feel of a good Cabernet, as well as some similar flavor characteristics: dark currants, black cherries, mint. Good richness, and for the price, impressive aging potential. But this wine is pleasant to drink even now, is a better food wine than the often overly-alcoholic and rustic inexpensive Aussies, and it's a terrific bargain. - HK 2008-11-02
