More tannic and backward-feeling than a lot of fat Aussie Shirazes. The nose has some nice complexity, as well as some similarity to a Cabernet, with dark currant and cherry notes. A little rustic in the mouth at this stage, but with nice currant, cherry, roasted meat, and earthy licorice flavors. The finish is still a bit on the tannic and tart side, though with good persistence. - HK 2002-11-02
