Full-bodied Bordeaux that's starting to edge into its top drinkability window. Dark purple to the rim, still fairly tightly structured, but lots of meat on its bones. Lovely violet and cedar notes on top of currant and dark briary berry fruit. Nuances of charcoal and black raspberry pie, and more overt sweet oaky influences than I'm used to finding in most Bordeaux. Really pleasurable wine, especially with food that knocks off the slight tannic edge. - HK 2013-02-05
