2002 Rancho Zabaco Zinfandel Dancing Bull California WB Rating: 85 Alcohol by volume: 13.9% Price at time of purchase: $6.98 (K&L) Type: Zinfandel Principal varietal(s): Zinfandel Based on the price, the grapes for this wine probably came from downtown Milpitas. But this Dancing Bull is again an astonishingly good Zin for the price. No weird or green or off-kilter cheap aromas or flavors. Forward, pleasing Zin aromas of dark berries, Dry-Creek-like earthiness, sweet herbs, and a distant hint of Lodi raisins. Predictably, not as round and ripe-feeling in the mouth as some of the more expensive Zins, but not far off either. Case-worthy for sure. - HK 2004-12-06 [Back] |
