| 1993 Ravenswood Merlot Sonoma County, California WB Rating: 87 Alcohol by volume: 13.8% Price at time of purchase: $15.00 (Library Wine) Type: Merlot Principal varietal(s): 76% Merlot, 12% Cab, 12% Cabernet Franc Initial impression was fairly light and uncomplicated, but blossomed after being open for half an hour into a much more serious and interesting wine. Nicely integrated with kirsch and chocolate flavors, a slight Cabernet-like weediness, and an elusive touch of violets in the nose. Medium body, nice though not long finish.
