The Vintner's Blend Zin is produced in huge quantities, and we've had rather mixed luck with it over the years -- it has as often as not been un-Zin-like and a bit watery. But the '98 is a good wine and excellent bargain. With nice body, velvety mouth feel, good balance, and refreshing bright red fruit flavors, it reminded us somewhat of several of the good Spanish Grenaches we have tasted recently. - WB Team 2000-06-22
