| 1999 Ravenswood Mendocino Zinfandel Mendocino, California WB Rating: 85 Alcohol by volume: 15.3% Price at time of purchase: $13.99 (Whole Foods) Type: Zinfandel Principal varietal(s): Zinfandel Forward and fruity (blackberry and cassis), with moderate tannin and very good length. Although the alcohol is fairly high, it doesn't come accross as hot. This is one of Ravenswood's regional, second tier Zins which offer good quality at prices about half that of the more upscale 'single vineyard' offerings.
