| 2007 Ridge Vineyards Geyserville Sonoma County, California WB Rating: 90 Alcohol by volume: 14.4% Price at time of purchase: $29.00 (Beverages and More) Type: Zinfandel Principal varietal(s): 58% Zin, 22% Carignane, 18% Petite Sirah, 2% Mourvedre The Ridge Geyserville Zin is about as close to a sure thing as you can find. The 2007 is again excellent, though it came across as an infant in this tasting (April 2010). Less Zin than usual in the blend, but it has the usual Geyserville combination of power and balance. Lots of briary, earthy, chewy dark berry fruit, tightly structured, but full and long. Will be even better in a couple of years when it cracks open. - HK 2010-04-18 [Back] |
