This is the best Paso Robles I can remember drinking. A weighty but beautifully balanced wine, with a profound taste of ripe plums and an absolutely velvety mouth feel. Everything seemed in harmony for this excellent wine: fruit, acid, oak. Opaque purple, fresh and as lively as the day it was bottled, not the tiniest hint of losing its color or fruit or vibrancy. It seems that Paso Robles is usually the easiest of the Ridge Zins to drink early, but it also seems to age better than any of the others except perhaps the Geyserville. (H.K.) - HK 2000-06-13
