Rated only in the mid-80's when tasted several years ago, this opaque purple wine has evolved nicely, cracking open to reveal blueberry-liqueur-like aromas and earthy flavors with hints of black licorice, vanilla, and straw. Still a bit rustic compared to the elegant Ridge Dry Creek Zinfandels, but will likely continue to evolve positively. - WB Team 2003-11-01
