| 2014 Rochioli Chardonnay Estate Russian River, Sonoma, California WB Rating: 90 Alcohol by volume: 14.5% Price at time of purchase: $45.00 (from winery) Type: Chardonnay Principal varietal(s): Chardonnay This Chardonnay may lack the sheer classiness of the single-vineyard Rochioli's, but it's an excellent Russian River Chardonnay every year and its price remains in the vaguely sane range. The 2014 seemed particularly mineral-driven in my most recent tasting, adding some zing to the flavors and finish. Floral notes are front and center in the aromas, with flavors of spiced pear, yeast, honeyed citrus, buttery pastry. Actually , in the mouth, this Chardonnay reminded me of Champagne.
