2001 Rosemount Estate Shiraz Estate South Eastern Australia WB Rating: 85 Alcohol by volume: 14.0% Price at time of purchase: $12.00 (Widely available) Type: Shiraz Principal varietal(s): Shiraz (Syrah) We've had any number of indifferent wines from Rosemount, so this one was a very pleasant surprise. Widely available, fairly priced, and tasty -- a good combination. This wine has a youthful purple color, a spicy (and very Napa-Zin-like) nose highlighted by berries, bing cherries and plums, and fairly rich red fruit and licorice flavors. It is still young and would benefit from a year or two in the bottle, but it's drinking well right now. - WB exec team 2002-11-03 [Back] |

[stfreak 2003-06-07] I love this wine as a good stanby. Smooth and deeply fruity with a nice warmth. User Rating: 85. |
[bonnie 2003-01-29] This is a good Shiraz. I\'ve had bad luck trying Australian wines- Haven\'t found one that I could comment positively on until I tried Rosemount Shiraz. Easy to drink, juicy, good structure, but soft on the tannins- like a Zin. Good. User Rating: 86. |
