2001 Rosenblum Zinfandel Harris Kratka Vineyard Alexander Valley, Sonoma, California WB Rating: 87 Alcohol by volume: 13.8% Price at time of purchase: $30.00 (from winery) Type: Zinfandel Principal varietal(s): 95% Zinfandel, 2% Petite Sirah and 3% Carignane Velvety and delicious wine, though it lacks the extraction and depth of our favorite Zins made from older vines. Super-ripe plums, strawberries, red licorice, and oaky spices highlight the nose and flavors of this wine, which has something of the nature of a turbo-charged Beaujolais. Very tasty, but pricey for the extraction level. - WB team 2003-03-04 [Back] |
