A rich, classic Cabernet nose -- smoky cassis fruit with spicy oak -- highlights this good if pricey wine. In the mouth the wine exhibits (to my taste) an excessive acidity that tends to diminish the wine's taste appeal and clip the finish. Undoubtedly too young, but didn't impress me as having the extraction and flavor interest to merit the high price (on sale at $36; retail $50 or so). - HK 2002-09-29
