1998 Rosenblum Zinfandel Rockpile Road Vineyard Dry Creek, Sonoma, California WB Rating: 87 Alcohol by volume: 14.2% Price at time of purchase: $15.00 (The Wine Club) Type: Zinfandel Principal varietal(s): Zinfandel There's a lot going on in this wine that makes it a pleasure to drink. Dark, almost opaque color. Complex nose with cedar, oak, spice in the foreground, berry fruit in the background. The flavor has some notes of liqueur-marinated cherries and the earthiness was somewhat Burgundian in nature. The earthiness struck some as slightly vegetal, but in the sense of adding complexity. Again, an excellent Zin at a more-than-fair price. - WB Team 2001-02-07 [Back] |
