1999 Domaine Ruet Morgon Vieilles Vignes Morgon, Beaujolais, France WB Rating: 85 Alcohol by volume: 12.5% Price at time of purchase: $15.00 (Draeger's) Type: Beaujolais Principal varietal(s): Gamay This is the third Domaine Ruet Beaujolais we have tried, and it is the best of the three. (The others were a mediocre '98 Regnie and a good '99 Brouilly). Serious, deep cherry liqueur nose, excellent complementary spiciness, good balance in the mouth, smooth finish. Has a lot in common with a tasty Pinot Noir, and very little of the bubble gum nature that can sometimes do in an otherwise good Beaujolais. A little pricy at $15. - HK 2001-04-12 [Back] |
