2009 Russian Hill Pinot Noir Estate Vineyards Russian River, Sonoma, California WB Rating: 91 Alcohol by volume: 14.5% Price at time of purchase: $40.00 (from winery) Type: Pinot Noir / Burgundy Principal varietal(s): Pinot Noir My favorite Russian Hill Pinot to date: I even slightly prefer this vintage to the excellent 2007. Rich, deep, earthy Russian River Pinot character - predominantly black cherry fruit, with touches of red raspberry and strawberry. Beautifully perfumed aromas with a definite dose of dried rose petals. Outstanding balance and grip in the mouth, lovely fruit dominated finish. One of those Pinot's that reminds you how awesome this varietal can be when everything goes right. - HK 2013-08-09 [Back] |
