2005 S.A. Prum Graacher Himmelreich Riesling Spatlese Mosel-Saar-Ruwer, Germany WB Rating: 91 Alcohol by volume: 9.0% Price at time of purchase: $12.99 (Premier Cru) Type: Riesling Principal varietal(s): Riesling I absolutely love this wine, and it seems to be getting better year by year. This Mosel is a totally delicious, food-friendly, wonderfully fruity yet crisply structured Riesling. Layers of apricot and sweet citrus fruit along with citrus blossom honey in the aromas and flavors - yet it's accompanied by a perfect bracing dose of crisp balancing acidity that seems almost unique to the better German Rieslings. Full, long, delicious wine. Bought during an excellent sale at Premier Cru, this wine is easily worth $20+, and because it's not too sweet, it's a terrific food wine, a perfect match with spicy or richly sauced foods. - HK 2009-04-15 [Back] |
