2007 Sanford Winery Pinot Noir Sanford and Benedict Vineyard Sta. Rita Hills WB Rating: 91 Alcohol by volume: 14.5% Price at time of purchase: $60.00 (Winery) Type: Pinot Noir / Burgundy Principal varietal(s): Pinot Noir This is a rich and satisfying Pinot Noir from a super vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills AVA. Full-bodied wild berry flavors with a strong touch of sweet spices (cardamom? cloves?). Ripe and round in the mouth but with enough tannin to merit some more time on its side. Already delicious, but strikes me as a wine that will gain both complexity and depth with time. - HK 2011-03-05 [Back] |
