The Cortina Zin wine struck me as more structured and age-worthy than the Home Ranch tasted beside it, though both are a delight. The Cortina shows great depth and balance and perhaps more complexity than the Home Ranch, though at this stage it's projecting a very stern, tannic countenance. Lots of spicy dark fruit flavors along with some nice earthiness and roasted herb components. Pricey, but this is a top-notch Zinfandel that will be even better in a year or two. - HK 2007-09-20
