This wine is really in its drinkability sweet spot at age 6. Sleek, smooth, rich, balanced, and with a lot more charm than I find in most Sangiovese wines, especially from California. Dark cherry, cedar, tar notes in the aromas and flavors. Elegant, satisfying, satisfyingly sinewy texture in the mouth. Beautifully proportioned in its fruit/acid/tannin mix. Still has another 3 years at least of great drinking. - HK 2013-09-02
