2010 Sterling Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Diamond Mountain Napa Valley, California WB Rating: 90 Alcohol by volume: 14.9% Price at time of purchase: $65.00 (winery) Type: Cabernet / Bordeaux Principal varietal(s): Bordeaux blend Rich and nicely balanced high-elevation Cab. Still youthful and somewhat unevolved, but the raw materials taste awfully good. Deep, smokey black currant fruit with a hint of dark berries and spice. Probably lots of tannin under the surface, but the mouth feel is pleasantly ripe and balanaced. If it develops a little more dimensionality this score will go up a point or two. - HK 2015-12-10 [Back] |
