Veeder, Napa, California WB Rating: 93 Alcohol by volume: 14.9% Price at time of purchase: $125.00 (Gift) Type: Cabernet / Bordeaux Principal varietal(s): Cabernet Sauvignon Superb Cabernet, easily the best wine I've ever had from Sterling. Opaque deep purple - almost black. Still extremely youthful (it was much more open and nuanced the second day than the first), but so rich and full of ripe Cabernet fruit. Dark berry and cassis flavors floating on a complex backbone of chocolate, spice, and lead pencil. Aged in 100% new oak but not a hint of over-oaked nature. Full and satisfying in the mouth, long finish tinged with youthful tannins. It would be nice to taste this one again in 10 years even though it's completely delicious now.
