2012 Stonestreet Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Alexander Valley, Sonoma, California WB Rating: 88 Alcohol by volume: 14.5% Price at time of purchase: $33.39 (Bottle Barn, Santa Rosa CA) Type: Cabernet / Bordeaux Principal varietal(s): Cabernet Made from a blend of high-altitude vineyards on Alexander Mountain. Deep, healthy purple color. Still closed but obviously well-endowed. With airing, it opens into a youthful young Cab with classic cassis aromas and a solid underpinning of briary dark fruit and violets. A good "entry level" Cabernet from Stonestreet, this should drink well for at least another 10 years - but I have to say that at age 8 it has yet to develop much charm to go with its other attributes. - HK 2016-10-17 [Back] |
