2007 Taft Street Zinfandel Cobblestone Vineyards Russian River, Sonoma, California WB Rating: 89 Alcohol by volume: 14.9% Price at time of purchase: $24.00 (Winery) Type: Zinfandel Principal varietal(s): Zinfandel From an old-vine vineyard tucked into a corner of Windsor just off Hembree and Jensen Lanes. I had previously tasted and enjoyed the 2005 Cobblestone, but the 2007 is a step up in flavor interest and intensity. Appealing spicy nose that smells a lot like creme de cassis, though it also displays the usual Zinfandel cherry/berry fruit and a definite note of ground black pepper. Soft and easy to drink, ready now, and in common with all the other Taft Street wines, very fairly priced. - HK 2009-10-12 [Back] |
