A bottle of this wine was tasted about a year and a half ago, and was found to be funky, clumsy, and nearly unpleasant. It was ranked 75. This bottle was much superior to the previous one tasted -- bottle variation, or user error the first time around?? This wine shows less acid than the typical Rossi Ranch, probably because it's lated picked. But it didn't strike us overtly sweet. It's still a bit heavy but certainly not clumsy. Earthy, with a round mouth feel and flavors of prunes, dried apples, molasses, and blackberries. Reasonably long finish, too. - HK 2001-12-20
