1982 Torres Gran Coronas Reserva Penedes, Spain WB Rating: 81 Alcohol by volume: 13.0% Price at time of purchase: $0.00 (Library wine) Type: Spanish red Principal varietal(s): It's unfair to judge this wine 15 years after it was meant to be drunk, especially since in its prime it was one of our favorite reds, with Zin-like richness and huge amounts of sweet toasty oak. But it's also interesting to see what happens to some of these old standby's. A little amber in color now, a little dispirited in the attack, devoid of the tannin that could give it some clout - yet it was still a remarkably pleasant wine, with soft cedar-laced fruit and a respectable finish. - Winebork Team 2005-10-23 [Back] |
