2012 Twomey Pinot Noir Anderson Valley Anderson Valley, Mendocino, California WB Rating: 89 Alcohol by volume: 14.1% Price at time of purchase: $48.00 (winery) Type: Pinot Noir / Burgundy Principal varietal(s): Pinot Noir I've loved virtually every Twomey Pinot Noir I've tasted. Not necessarily the deepest and most profound Pinot's in the world, but sleek, elegant, full-flavored, and just a pleasure to drink. The 2012 Anderson Valley is again a graceful yet full-flavored example. Beautifully balanced, this wine sings with deep strawberry and cherry fruit along with lovely floral notes. Some nice earth and caramel components lurking in the midrange too. Drinking really well now with no obtrusive tannins, I'd opt to drink this one within the next year or two - I don't see it getting better than it already is. - HK 2015-04-23 [Back] |
