Provided for the 25th anniversary of me (HK) and my wife by two of the finest human beings ever to grace the face of the earth, my brother and sister in law Bob and Andrea. This is the best Champagne we have ever tasted. The only reason it's not rated even higher is our limited experience in the stratosphere of great Champagnes. (Like ice skating judges, we felt we had to leave a litte room at the top.) Gorgeous light gold color, supremely elegant, full flavored yet smooth as silk, bone dry yet with a texture like cream. Miniscule, persistent bubbles. Tantalizing flavors of spiced red apples, caramel, nutmeg, with hints of honey and tropical fruit and the perfect level of toastiness. Pristine finish. Sensational wine. - HK 2001-07-20

[sthitch  2004-07-26] I have had several bottles of Grande Dame and find it to be stellar champagne. The \'90 is one of the best of many fine vintages. Some tasters may find that it is rather subtle. Granted it is not as fruity as the Non-Vintage VC, it has far more depth of flavor. It is best consumed alone or with a simple piece of bread. When poured from a Magnum, the wine is not as subtle as from a fifth.  User Rating: 96.
[mr vino  2003-03-05] I was quite disappointed in this wine due to its lack of depth and general blahness. The regular 90 vintage is much, much better IMO. Others at the table agreed with me. Given the price, I expected a lot more.  User Rating: 85.
