Remarkably plump, full Chardonnay from an area (and winemaker) I associate more with lighter, crisper wines. Maybe it's the age, but this wine came across as very soft, ripe, and open in this tasting. Lots of the usual yeasty/toasty/leesy notes, but these are accompanied by tropical pineapple-like fruit along with butter and underlying sweet citrus. Unusual, tasty Pouilly-Fuisse that lacks the crispness and precision I normally associate with this appellation. - HK 2009-10-19
