This is a very good Brouilly, and it has aged beautifully -- it is much better than when first tasted two years ago. It is a special old-vines cuvee (one that actually sees some wood, I believe) from Brouilly, one of my favorite appellations. The nose is richer and more complex than the usual Beaujolais, with jammy cherry fruit, an attractive floral component, and a truly Burgundian-like feel. In the mouth the wine seems much fatter and fuller than a year or two ago, with velvety raspberry/cherry fruit and a long finish. - HK 2004-11-29
