2015 Walter Scott Chardonnay Freedom Hill Willamette Valley, Oregon WB Rating: 87 Alcohol by volume: 13.2% Price at time of purchase: $50.00 (winery) Type: Pinot Noir / Burgundy Principal varietal(s): Chardonnay Lean, steely, slightly chalky mouth feel reminded me of Sancerre. Subtle flavor profile suggestive of lemon, melon, yeast, with a strong mineral-tinged backbone and finish. This is a good Chardonnay in an austere style, though among the Walter Scott Chardonnays I've tasted, I preferred the X Novo and Cuvée Anne to this one. - HK 2021-05-27 [Back] |
