Wow, this is a big boy! Hard to believe this Zin is not from Dry Creek given its intensity and power. Astonishingly well balanced in the mouth given its crazy alcohol level. Overflowing with classic deep blackberry fruit and spice, and possessed of an attractive briary mouth-coating texture. No untoward raisiny or hot edge to this wine. Absolutely delicious wine, even with non-big-boy foods. I'd never believe this wine was from Mendocino, where I think of the Zins being considerably leaner. [Price estimated.] - HK 2017-06-15
